Skills Weeks pick up on the work covered during our other short sessions and go into depth in their particular subject areas.  Each runs from 10.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Friday. 

Our final Skills Week for 2008 takes place 6th  - 10th October.  Entitled Capture It - participants will learn how film-making can be used creatively to produce a marketing tool for musicians, artists and bands. Ending with the creation of a DVD movie that the group has worked on.

Other subjects covered this year include...

19th - 23rd May Hitting the Mark - from setting yourself up as a musician to getting yourself noticed. Ending with the completion of a mini-portfolio of your creative work.

2nd - 6th June Sounding It Out - an introduction to sound recording and reproduction through the demonstration of techniques. Ending in each participant leaving with a CD that the whole group has created.

7th - 11th July Cool Runnings - learning what it takes to put together an event from scratch. This will include learning a variety of skills required ending in participants running an actual event at the end of the season.

4th - 8th August Reading Between the Lines - a beginner’s guide to screenwriting, this provides the skills to develop a short script from a film idea.  Also covering the film industry and essential writing, creating, funding and signposting advice.

1st - 5th September Visualise This - learning how traditional art forms can be digitally manipulated and used creatively in designing posters, web content and video.  Ending with a session in The Georgian Theatre when a compilation of the work created will be projected to a soundtrack.
