| As part of NExNE, Alan McGhee has invited Kathryn Williams (who he once managed) and The Grants (a new group from Liverpool) to appear at the Georgian Theatre. Kathryn is one of the UK's most respected and critically acclaimed singer-songwriters. She made her first album Dog Leap Stairs in 1999 and famously recorded it for the princely sum of £80! The NME declared it “jaw-droppingly beautiful”. The follow-up, Little Black Numbers, garnered a Mercury nomination, bringing her to the attention of a wider public.
The Grants are a dynamic four-piece, from Liverpool, whose myspace site quickly attracted the attention of Alan McGee. Alan invited the band to play at his Notting Hill club night, Death Disco. Impressed by their music and attitude, Alan has invited the band to record an album, in Palm Springs, for his new Creation Studios venture.
